Confidence v Competence - which is more effective?

Amanda Blesing is one of Australia's freshest thinkers, mentors and speakers on feminine ambition - how to spark it, tackle it , tame it and then channel it into producing  a healthier, more inspired and highly productive workforce. As the creator of The Ambition Revolution program, Amanda is a powerful speaker who gets right to the heart of the issue with statistics, stories and insights as to what the problem is and what you can do about it.

For the past 20 years Amanda has walked her own talk as she worked her own way through the ranks of the association world with her last role as Chief Executive Officer of SOCAP Australia - and all this in addition to working part time in the wellness sector, inspiring 1000s  to achieve a healthier and more balanced life.

2017 topics include:

  • Confidence v Competence - which is more effective?
  • Step Up, Speak Out, STAND OUT - how to use executive branding to stand out from the crowd
  • Negotiation Strategies for Women - helping women with a win win
“Great speaker. It was a good summary of what we all know but we just needed a reminder of these things. It’s not rocket science but it needs to be top of mind. Her presenting skills are fabulous”
— Liquid Learning, Women in Leadership & Marketing Conference, Nov 2017
Amanda is a vibrant, highly engaging and thought provoking speaker. She brings a great deal of energy to her subject matter and I would highly recommend her as either an MC or speaker at your event.
— Sarah Young, Executive Leadershp Coach and Trainer at the Brisbane Women in Leadership Summit 2016
Amanda was an amazing addition to our PMI Australia Conference 2017 as our MC. I was very impressed with her professional approach to the task. Amanda was so easy to work with and it was clear she had taken the time to research about our profession and was able to weave in the conference theme of the event to bring it all together effortlessly. Her personable, anecdotal and humorous presentation style was exactly what we needed. We were in safe hands with Amanda being our MC and I would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone needing a great MC for their next event.
— Kate Morris MSP, MoP, CSM (PMIAC17)
Amanda has facilitated all of our Lawyers On Demand Women of Influence Melbourne events including one just recently on the topic of collaboration. As always she did a superb job. She has great content, she judges her audience well and has a gift for keeping the conversation flowing and injecting new information at just the right time to direct the discussion in new and interesting directions. Thank you Amanda you helped make our event a real success.
— Sandra Gibson Managing Director, Australia at Lawyers On Demand
Amanda spoke at the annual Professional Development Seminar for Women in Mining and Resources Victoria, on the topic of negotiation tactics for women. She captivated the audience with her easy to understand and polished delivery of information that included statistical evidence on the benefits of gender diversity, how the mind works (differently for men and women) and practical tips on how to short circuit biases in ourselves and others. Amanda used humour interwoven with examples to explain the value of knowing your worth and salary negotiation tactics. Amanda’s content was highly relevant and right on target, the session has prompted me to reflect on how to manage my career more effectively and reframe my approach to maximise my opportunities.
