She should be so lucky! Ensure you have the last laugh
We overheard a mother at the next table warning her 7yo daughter about our boisterous laughter. She (loudly) used us as an example of what she didn’t want her daughter to grow up like.
We paused mid laugh, absolutely taken aback, then responded “she should be so lucky!”
And both of us now tell that story from the stage as part of our keynotes.
Guess who got the last laugh?
I truly hope the young girl had other influences in her life to help her learn to laugh boisterously as it’s not just an awesome life skill, but because there is so much good for you in a belly laugh.
Unfortunately, there is a downside.
Research tells us that humour works for men but not for women until someone gets to know you. And then it’s ok to be funny.
Remember, the double standards we walk past are the double standards we accept.
And in the meantime I’m going to keep the laughter coming! Especially as we deal with the constant change and uncertainty that surrounds us right now.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HAD THE LAST LAUGH?
