Three Amazing Women to Help You Get the Skinny on Fitness Advice That Works for Women
I’m a podcast junkie.
When I’m not bingeing on women and finance podcasts I’m devouring the latest science on women, health and fitness.
What I’m loving though is that through podcasting, women’s voice and the female perspective is now visible and voluble. Which means you have access to cutting edge, tailored information that truly works for women.
However, just like a lot of career and leadership advice is skewed towards men. So too is health and fitness advice.
Historically scientific research in health and fitness has been conducted on male test subjects. Women have been assumed to be mini versions of men or 2nd class citizens only with an interest in weight loss and being thin.
Media outlets pick up on these generic health and fitness research findings and attention grabbing headlines abound about what ‘we’ should be doing more or less of.
Rarely have these findings been tested on women.
Maybe you tried intermittent fasting, or hours of Zone 2 training, or freezing ice baths, or daily HIIT classes, but all it does is leave you going nowhere at best or depleted and going backwards at worst. And this leaves you wondering why you bother.
As you’re about to learn, women aren’t mini men.
Science is only more recently finding out there are some fascinating biological differences between men and women when it comes to health, fitness and healthy aging.

In recent weeks I’ve shared a couple of the more fun facts I’ve found that make it easier to be a woman.
- Did you know, when it comes to cold plunging a woman doesn’t necessarily need to turn the tap down as low to reap the same reward? I know, right?!! Read more on LI and get involved in the chat.
- Or even more interesting, a woman only needs to exercise (cardio) half as much as a man (140 mins vs 300 mins per week), to get a bigger boost to longevity? (24% vs 18%). Read more on LI and get involved in the chat.
