My Boyfriend Dumped Me When He Found Out How Little I Earned
While he didn’t say it outright, it did happen just a few days after our frank financial discussion.
That was the first time I learned that men my age were earning significantly more than me and that perhaps I had been selling myself short.
Or more likely, I had been sold short without my knowledge.
But it did light a fire in me – and I went back to university to reposition myself for something bigger and better paying.
It helped me see I could do things differently and that there were options.
And having options is immensely liberating.
