Respecting Women in the Workforce – my interview on Ticker TV with Holly Stearns
I joined ticker NEWS and Holly Stearns again last week for a timely discussion about IWD and respect for women in the Workforce, in light of the recent events in Canberra.
Given recent events in Canberra, there is no doubt that the Prime Minister and his colleagues would have been glad to see International Women’s Day on a Sunday in the shadow of a pandemic and a soon to be global interview with Meghan and Harry. Author, mentor and executive coach Amanda Blesing says that despite such distractions, it is impossible to hide the fact that when it comes to respect in the workforce for women, Australia feels like it is slipping backwards.
- What are women feeling around the nation as they hear daily the PM and senior colleagues being forced to discuss respect and treatment of women?
- If respect and the safety of women in the workplace has not been achieved in our nation’s capital, where our leaders meet, what hope is there in the rest of the nation?
- What are the challenges that you are seeing across workplaces, is Australia improving in respect of women, or are we going backwards?
- If the politicians are failing us in the battle for respect and equality for women at work, what role can business leaders play to turn the tide?
